«Global Youth Service Day Conference» This event was organized on May, the 15th. Last, but not least iEngage event which recognized and rewarded the most active teachers and students from all around Moldova. Here were presented many guests from the USA.
Our 7th form students had an online meeting with April Salermo, a Fulbright teacher who is working now at the Pedagogical University "I. Creanga" in Chisinau. They prepared a lot of questions about community service in the USA. April was very glad to answer their questions and asked them about their impressions participating in the GYSD (Global Youth Service Day) project. We had a very friendly and warm discussion. Our students were glad to find a new foreign friend.
Thanks April for the time she found for us. We are always ready to be volunteers

Let's Make Our Town Better TogetherWe are a big family of volunteers!!! We planned to do something good for our nature, our town and its citizens. So, we organized a Cleaning Up Day for Dondusheni. In this activity we involved all three lyceums from our town, the mayor and the administration of our small town and the sanatation team who were glad to help us in cleaning. Each lyceum cleaned a special zone. Our lyceum decided to take a zone full of trash, but at the same time very used by many of our people, especially for children. So, it is considered the zone through what people cross the railways to go to the second part of our town. It is called "the region of the sugar factory", because of the factory that had worked there before some years ago. All the students were very glad to participate in this activity. Inspite of all the thash and unpleasant smell that they encountered, students were very responsible to their job. They approached to the idea of cleaning with very big understanding, and did it with deep awareness. All the students were engaged. the youngest cleaned the field of small pieces of trash not very dangerous for them. Them most difficult zones were cleaned by the secondary and high school students. Teachers and the administration of the lyceums were a good example for their students. We are thankfull to the mayor of our town for the gloves and the bags for trash he prepared for us. Also he organized the transportation and the sanatation team. They were the undispensable part of our cooperation with our community. They helped our volunteers in doing a good and well-planned job. Let's Meet New FriendsDear students,
I propose you to access the GYSD Youth Forum and answer the questions listed below: a) How do you plan to celebrate GYSD with your school colleagues? b) What activities do you plan to organize? c) Who is going to help you (your teachers, your parents, the school administration, local NGOs, the mayor office)? d) How are you planning to tell other people about your project (through Facebook, class website, blog, school newspaper)? A visit to the mayor of the town.
